textual analysis

This is a song just out this summer, and i really like the

effect of it. Fristly, I really like the opening of it, cause it

try to simulate the system of iphone and they put lyrics underneath

 it looks like dialogue in iphone messages which is very innovation,

also can create a familier feeling and everyday life to audience,

also cause the two singers in the music video more intimacy.

Although the whole music video are nearly done by photos,

but it dont look boring at all cause they process the pictures

look more 3D for examle, the photos of male singer with the

birthday cake, they make the whole thing static except the light

on the candle, which makes the shots more interesting. And most

of the photos taken by self portrait angle which give audience the

same feelings like they are in the music video. Also they used

quite a lot of warm colour wash to make the video look more sweet.

I've a bit of research of how they made the photos look 3D

and i found out they used a programme call "AfterEffect"

I'm wodering i could used this in my music video.

Facebook and youtube would be my first choice of exhibit my music video,

cause both of them are very popular and common, which mean you can just upload it and public can know about your video quite easily.

YG ENTERTAINMENT is the best known production

company in korea, and they produced different style of

music video, and the quality of them are pretty amazing.

I looked at the website of Channel 4, and i see how they put

their audience into groups, and the precentage of each group.

and and i found out that females mostly spend money on clothing

and make up and males are more often spend on computer games.

And i think aged between (16-24) would be more interested on

my video than the rest of year group.

How did people choose what type of music they listening to, for me, i usually just ramdomly pick a song on youtube, also friendgroup is quite a reason for me to listen centain type of song. But the most straight forward way to make me listen to a music is the promotion of the song from TV or radio, and a good music video.

A good music video do makes such a differences. Have you ever feel when you listen to the song without the music video makes the song less interesting then with it?  So nowadays people  dont usually just download the soundtrack they also download the video with it cause there is many phone can watch mp4 and you can watch them online like 'Youtube' or other music video channels. In my opinion, bright colour video interested me more cause i dont really like moddy but depends on the songs, and i really like watching music video with many movement like dance or some scientific effects.

Here is the moodboard i create which is included so pictures of

cities, and close up of some objects that often used in R&B music

videos, also there is some classic phones and clocks and some

fisheyes effect and signs and big writting are popular for music videos.

 and they can explain what is the whole music video about.

1. The first scene is a close up of Rihanna with half face cover by her hair,

tells audience that she might going something don't want public to know.

2. And the second shot is a high angle shot of public, its create a illusion that

people look weak.

3. There is a low angle shot of a hand holding a gun, its makes the gun look

stronger and more dangerious. Also, you know whats going to happen.

4. Forth screen shot is a text of "Yesterday", which show the font of the

video, and its an open of the reason of why Rihanna is shooting someone.

Blue colour wash are ued for the flashback.

5. A mid shot of Rihanna having fun in the club, you can tell by the setting

and the lighting of the shot, and you can also see there is quite a lot of people

around her.

6. A shot of Rihanna pushing someone away from her, maybe that trying to

force her to do something makes her mad. And there is other people around.

7. Mid shot again,but you can still know what he is doing, he is covering her mouth

by his hand in a unhinded place. And Rihanna looks so helpless and angry.

8. Its another close up shot of Rihanna holding a gun, it can also match the beginning

of the music video which is screen shot number three. .

9. Number nine is a black background with white writting of  the information

of the company who owns this music video.
